Course Certification

The Cocoa Classic’s race course is USATF-certified and can be a qualifying race for the AJC Peachtree Road Race.

The race starts promptly at 9 am

Registration Fees

$45 until January 14

$50 until February 13

$55 day of race

All race registration is done online. Onsite registration will not be available.

Bib Pickup

Go the extra step and pick up your race bib at Road Runner Sports! Not only will you skip the race-day rush, but for every runner who picks up their bib in-store, Road Runner Sports will make a donation to the Cocoa Classic, helping us provide even more shoes to kids in need.

Bib pickup will be available on Friday, February 13th 2025, from 4 pm - 7 pm at the following locations:

By picking up early, you’ll save time on race morning and help give back to the community!

What’s the route?

Take a minute to look at the Cocoa Classic 5k run race route. This course is USATF-Certified so it can be a qualifying race for the AJC Peachtree Road Race or any other big races that need a qualifying time. This route is fairly flat but has a few hills.

Timing and Results

Your timing device for this event is the Chronotrack single-use B-tag implemented in the Cocoa Classic race bib.

Parking

Parking for the race will be at the Mount Vernon Lower Campus, Misty Creek Church and First Baptist Church.

Parking will not be available at the Upper School Campus.

Sponsorship Tents

Enjoy sponsorship tents on race day!

Awards

All Finishers will receive a Yeti Cup with the Cocoa Classic Logo.

Overall age group, male/female and masters male/female finishers will receive prizes.

Additional Details

  • Cocoa Classic will have EMS on-site during the race at The Mount Vernon School.

  • All participants are required to sign a waiver in order to run

  • In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is...

    Clearly visible on the front of the torso.

    Unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle).

    Pinned in all four corners.

    Not covered (jackets, fuel belts, etc.).

  • The race start/finish is located at the upper campus located at 510 Mt Vernon Highway.

    Please follow the signs and directions of volunteers on race day for parking.

    Parking is conveniently located at:

    (1) The Mount Vernon School Lower Campus located at 471 Mt Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs GA

    (2) Misty Creek Community Church located at 590 Mt Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs GA

    (3) First Baptist Church located at 650 Mt Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs GA

    Volunteer parking ONLY is available at the upper school.
